Athena hardware hotline-
The Athena printer in the basement of Rotch library is CONSTANTLY
getting error messages like 79 Service (blah, blah,). I've talked
to the hotline people about this and was told that turning it off and
on after 30 seconds would make it better, but that is not working this
time. Please fix it!
I'm sending files from a PC, and often I get an "error spooled file
rejected" printout instead of my document. I thought we fixed this
by making sure the settings for Postcsript were "archive format." If
this is what is messing the printer up, the Computer Resource Lab
in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning needs to know. Please
contact Phil Thompson at phils@mit.edu if the settings on the PCs
need to be fixed and if this is responsible for the printer errors.
Note: this does not happen all the time, but about 2/3 of the time.
Thank you,
Michelle
