Shutdown X, by hitting CTRL-P at the normal xlogin window. Then login
as "root" (you can find out the default passwd by running 'tellme root'
when logged in as you.).
Attach the 8.1 system packs with the following two commands:
/bin/athena/detach -h -n -a
/bin/athena/attach -h -n -O dev-sun4sys-81
Actually perform the update (note that this will take 30 to 60
minutes, and the workstation will reboot once inthe middle of this
process) with the following command:
/srvd/update_ws
This may ask you to press <RETURN> or prompt you for other information,
but, the prompts should be intelligible.
once the update is done you will be given a shaell prompt in case you
want to check on anything. Once you are ready you should hit
Control-D and the workstation will reboot and come up running 8.1
