At approx. 18:05  w20-575-36 started to beep, and wouldn't stop.  I tried
to log in with the root password to reboot it, but it wouldn't take.  I
checked with others that it hadn't changed since I last learned it (years
ago); in the meantime a user logged in and used it, still beeping away.
(Note that by beeping I mean emitting a continuous tone.)  After the user
logged out and I had confirmed the cluster root password was what I thought,
I tried again, twice (and yes, I know to make sure caps lock isn't down).
I then powered the machine down and wrote this mail.
