Hello Juana -
We seriously considered designing the Quickstations so that people
would get logged off if they exceeded the time limit, but decided
not to follow that path for two reasons - (1) the amount of
development work that it would take, and (2) the damage that it
might cause to students who had inadvertently gone over the limit.
Our thought was to monitor usage and see whether a combination of
self-discipline, peer pressure, and community spirit would do the
trick.
Based on what we've seen so far, this seems to be working, with
only an extremely few logins that exceed 10 minutes. We will
continue to monitor the situation and see how things develop. In
the mean time, you are quite within your rights to ask someone to
finish up and log off once the timer number goes past 10 minutes.
We've made that number large enough to be visible from a distance
that still retains the privacy of the work that the user is doing.
Thank you for sending in your quickcomment.
