	I saw Lou's e-mail message , but when I lpr'd Ceres, the queue
was off Monday morning. I called JJ to put it an and printed duplex
without any problem.

Beside the printer was a page that said "Error: spooled binary file
rejected." Was the queue turned on, then choked on this file and turned off
again? I guess we need to ask Lou.

As far as I can tell, Ceres is in top condition. I ran the same
set of test prints on Ajax to compare sounds and both came out equally
quiet (or noisy).

	I am CLOSING this log.

Ceres, which had the grinding problems on printing and, more recently,
jamming problems, is ready to have its queue re-enabled. I replaced the
Paper Input Unit. After that I ran the paper path test - 50 pages from
tray 2 and 50 from tray 3. No problems...nice and quiet. (As quiet as
laser printers get.)

I did not get a chance to try the duplexer since the queue was
off and the menus locked. I am not entirely certain that the duplex unit
is working correctly, but I can't tell. I seem to remember being
suspicious of the duplexer, but I don't remember why. When the queue is
back up, I'll check again.

Printer name: Ceres (5si)
Printer location: W20-575
Printer s/n: USBD035499
Printer tag#: MIT-0299684

Problem: jamming, grinding noise on pickup
Parts used: RG5-1852 (Paper Input Unit)

Status: OPEN pending check of duplexer

Kyle, I have put the queue back on.
                                  Thanks,
