Subject: Notification -- Scheduled Steam Blow and Noise - 5/14
As a part of the Chiller Plant expansion in Bldg. 42, the Central
Utilities Plant has scheduled a steam blow for Wednesday during the late
morning and early afternoon. There will be a significant amount of noise
from this process which will last five to fifteen minutes per blow. The
blows will be periodic and it is anticipated that a total of five blows
will be necessary in order to get the new piping clean. The steam will
be vented to atmosphere. Other than the noise, the Central Utilities
Plant does not anticipate any disturbance in service or inconvenience to
the MIT Community.
