Hello, my name is Susan Dey. I was given this email address by someone at
the MCC. My sorority has a SPARC 5 monitor which needs repair. Do you do
such repairs, or can you refer me to someone who does?

The machine was bought two (or possibly three) years ago but has not been
used. We have no records of its purchase but the warranty has probably
expired. It has been standing in our library unused because our network
connection had not been completed. To test the connection we tried to use
the Sparc 5 but the monitor will not turn on. It immediately goes into
power-saving mode, even when the computer is on and operational. (We know
the computer is working because it responds to basic Unix commands, such as
it will eject a floppy.) The monitor was hooked into the computer properly
(as far as I could see) but there's no way to know whether the problem is
within the monitor, the connecting cable, or the connection on the computer
itself.

If you do repairs of this nature, how would I go about getting our monitor
to you? Would it be possible to get an estimate of what the cost will be?

Thank you,

Susan Dey
