Palladium, the SGI in 13-5051 is back up again. Since it once again had
ecc/parity errors, I cannot be sure if it is the logic board again or if it is a
memory chip. I was unable to isolate a single chip that may have been causing the
problem, so I replaced all 8 chips as well as the logic board.

I am suspicious of the software load, though. When it came up as I logged
in for this session, I got the following in my login window...

16:16 ../../../os/extra/usr/local/adainclude/s-imgllb.adsI$^BdThSetting up environment...
16:16 Starting the Athena Dashboard...
16:16 Creating logout button...
16:16 Creating initial xterm window...
16:16 Running standard startup activities...
16:16 zwgc: Hostmanager not responding while setting location
16:16 zwgc: Hostmanager not responding while subscribing
16:16 Session initialization completed.
16:17 Error while subscribing: Hostmanager not responding
16:17 zwgc initprog exec: Error 0
16:17 zwgc initprog of </etc/athena/zinit> failed with status [20].

...and also when my second console window came up, this was how it appeared...

../../../os/extra/usr/local/adainclude/s-imgllb.adsI$dThathena%

Just FYI. I do not know if that is indicative of a more serious problem.

Hi Kyle -

Craig Counterman is asking what the holdup is
for the system palladium. I believe last time
we spoke on 10/25 you said you were waiting for
a logic board. Please lite a fire under your
parts people so we can get Palladium back up.

Thanks

JJ
