From: glmaahs@MIT.EDU To: hotline@MIT.EDU Date: Thu, 07 Nov 1996 20:26:12 EST I was wondering why there are some computers that I am able to run fortran on and some I am not. I can run fortran on M37-318-10 and M37-318-3 and M37-318-2 but CANNOT run fortran on M37-318-9 or M37-318-8 or M37-318-6. Perhaps you can tell me the difference of these machines. It caused me a lot of problems. The ones I cannot run it on simply say killed as the response. I did however note that ALL of the computers will run a small short program. The problem occurs with larger programs. However, if a computer does run fortran properly, it always works. If a computer does not run fortran properly, then it never works. It seems to be a problem with the computers. thanks. Gordon Maahs
