One of the workstations in our cluster has been down for several
days now. The original note I sent (over the weekend) to request
repairs is below. I would appreciate it if someone could take a
look at the machine at your earliest convenience.

Subject: CHEMERS1.MIT.EDU down

From: John L Wilhelmi <wilhelmi@MIT.EDU>
Hello--
CHEMERS1.MIT.EDU, 18.63.0.59, has been down for the last day or so. It gives
users the message "workstation failed to activate successfully" followed by a
message in the "console" window suggesting that the machine is in the middle of
an update.
I checked the network connection, and it appears to be fine, so I think we do
have a software problem. I would appreciate it if someone could take a look at
the machine (it's in 66-070) at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.
