The NFS fileserver jason, which serves the bitbucket locker, will be
upgraded to a DECstation tomorrow, after an hour's worth of shutdown messages.
SCHEDULE:
Wednesday, Nov. 15, 8-9pm I will send shutdown zephyrgrams. At
9pm I will perform the upgrade.
REASON:
To decommision Athena's last production vax, and make bitbucket bigger.
SERVICES:
The bitbucket locker.
IMPACT:
The bitbucket locker will be unavailable for writing during the
upgrade, and all files stored in the bitbucket locker before the
upgrade will disappear.
Actually, I intend to make the old bitbucket available as bitbucket3 for
some random amount of time in case someone leaves something important
there. (Note that anyone who leaves something important in bitbucket needs
a lecture on how transient bitbucket is considered to be.)
