I have in my room (1-271) a Sun Sparc Station connected to Athena. In recent
days, I have been unable to access the floppy drive (with DOS-formatted
diskettes). Despite the fact that I issue "add consult", when I give
commands such as mdir, or mcopy, I either receive a message stating that no
floopy device is coonected, or the system simply hangs (from which I can
recover with a CTRL-c). Since I have not changed anything in my boot files
that could interfere with the floppy drive, I suspect that there is hardware
malfunction.
Please advise me on how to proceed.
