Hi!
I had a couple of serious problems yesterday and today at the Mac Cluster.
1) One used to be able to print directly from any of the macs in the cluster.
I did that for the past two years and it was very convenient. All you had to do
was to insert your venda-card. Unfortunately, that is not possible anymore and
I don't understand why there was a change in policy. Now you can only print
from the SE 30 on which it seems to be impossible to run Mathematica.
As a result, I can open my files on the other computers but I cannot print
them!
2) As an alternative, I tried to save my Mathematica file as a postscript file
by using the print option. This seems to work only on the "instructor's mac"
which is in the front of the room. With the other macs it seems to be
impossible to do it. As soon as you try to save the file as postscript you get
an error message saying that you need to choose a printer. This happens even if
you go to chooser and select the appropriate printer.
Please do something about this as soon as possible. Right now it is making my
life miserable given that I having working with the macs for the past two years
and have saved all my research results on diskettes. Unfortunately, I have no
access to any other macs that have Mathematica.
