James Paradis (x3-7392) called from 14N 3rd floor to report that his Sun
Sparkstation was getting the error message "AFS lost contact with file
server" and he was unable to save the files he has been working on. The
two fileservers listed for him were fennel (18.158.0.23) and bacon
(18.179.0.25) and they are both down. He also wanted to know if there is
an automatic system by which operations (or whoever) is informed when
servers are down.
I told him I would check and let him know. Would appreciate a response
or if someone could call him and let him know.
