VaporPatch 7.6R for the Suns, 7.6I for the RS/6000's, is sorta kinda
tentatively expected (well, expected is a bit strong) to come out
Tuesday morning around 7AM, the precise time rather depending on
prevailing winds. In fact, I expect if it's too windy the patch
release will actually disperse altogether, due to its ethereal nature,
and never be heard of again.
But Zephyros willing, I think we're all set. Well, and Eurus. And
Boreas. And Afer. As long as we don't get any earthquakes, floods,
snowstorms or power failures. Not to mention user errors. Gotta watch
for those unexpected gamma ray interactions too. Never mind random
quantum effects.
PLEASE NOTE: Some Quantum Physics Theories Suggest That When
the Consumer Is Not Directly Observing This Product, It May
Cease to Exist or Will Exist Only in a Vague and Undetermined
State.*
In fact, it may be argued that this product is not Directly
Observable. You may draw your own conclusions.
This much heralded, much sought, little seen patch release might
bring the following changes:
A bug in xlogin causing people to be logged out shortly after
login has been fixed.
lithium.lcs.mit.edu has been removed from named configuration
files.
Machtype now supports disks on Suns.
mitthesis.sty has been updated from the thesis locker.
Questions? Talk to me or Anne S. Thank you for your support.
