Hi --
Just wanted to let you know that the 424 mb hard drive has been reinstalled
in the MCC SPARC Classic demo. Jerry Burke mentioned that I should email
"hotline" when this was done so that we may get our Classic Athenized.
The serial # is : 313O3062 and the hostname is mccsun2. Please let me
know if there is anything else I can do to expedite this process.
Thanks for your help,
Mark Van Dyke

Hi Mark,
This is my understanding of where the Sun SparcClassic stands?
- - Ed Perkins removed the 434mb hard drive and placed it in another SUN
workstation (SUN/IPX I believe).
- - Currently a 207mb harddisk is installed in the SparClassic. We cannot
load the Athena software on this disk.
- - You will find out from Ed where he placed the 424mb harddisk and have
him put it back into the SparcClassic. He will remove the 207mb drive
and the CD ROM drive from the system.
- - The SparcClassic has a newer version of Solaris 2.3 which Ed supplied.
- - Supply me the serial#s of the SparcClassic and the monitor.
- - You need to supply requisition for $20.00 for a hostname (please
supply the hostname you want to call the SUNSparcClassic)
- - In additon a Requisition is needed for the Athena Service fee. $30.00
per month.(Debbie will pro-rate it).
We do not expect to see a requisition for anything, until you supply the
424mb harddisk. You're job will remain in the queue until we get all the
above information.
Then notify "hotline" 3-1410 or email hotline@mit.edu to reload the
Athena software. We will then make a schedule with you to load the
software.
I know you have a network drop already.
Thanks, Jerry
