Multiple button events

I am on M11-116-4. The mouse is sending multiple ButtonPress and
ButtonRelease events for one SINGLE button press. That is, if I hold
down button 1 and not release it, it automatically generates a release, press,
release, press, release, press, ... You can test this out by clicking
button 1 in the root window and see the popup dialog flash multiple times.
