We are preparing to do a patch release to fix a critical problem in
xlogin. There are a couple of other changes along for the ride.

Machines in the beta clusters are now running on the patched packs. We
plan, barring objections (talk to me or salemme), to release the
changes to the rest of the world Wednesday at 8AM (not tomorrow, as
previously advertised).

Changes for Sun 7.6R and RS/6000 7.6I

A bug in xlogin causing people to be logged out shortly after
        login has been fixed.

lithium.lcs.mit.edu has been removed from named configuration
        files.

Machtype now supports disks on Suns.

mitthesis.sty has been updated from the thesis locker.

Insert from the last patch message from Kim...
---

The actual release of the system packs will take about 40 minutes,
during which time some clients may hang and appear to be unusable.

If users report problems they should *not* reboot workstations, but
should wait patiently for the workstation to return to normal
operation.

Workstations configured for auto-update will do so after the
new release is available and the workstation is not in use.

If there are any questions or problems give a yell.
