Subject: e52-364-p net connection bouncing
Date: Mon, 07 Feb 94 14:43:08 EST
From: John Chase <jchase@MIT.EDU>
Hello Net-Help,
Please forward this to telecoms.....
Hotline has been troubleshooting a networked HP
printer in rm e52-364 for 2 weeks. The printer
keeps bouncing on the net. Steve G replaced the UTP
cable and swapped repeater ports around 2-17-94.
The problem continued. Last Wednesday the printer was
swapped out. The printer is still bouncing.
At this point I am running out of options and suspect the
network drop. Please swap the port on the jack or do
whatever you need to to give this printer a totally new
net connection. Jack # = e52-364-3.
Is there some way to monitor the port/repeater for
trouble?
John Chase

Net help forwarded this to trans-trb@MIT.EDU today.

I've also asked Chris Murphy to monitor it for more
info concerning the drop.
Chris monitored durring a outage and he saw nothing on
the port that was a obvious error. Suggested a drop change
was probably the best way to go.

Called Brian Shannon for status, 3-3007.
