I stopped in 66-246 on my way back from the pool, to see what printer was
involved. The printer is 'visco' (which is not one of the ones we'd hooked
up using point-to-point modems from the basement printserver). The person
I talked with said there are three problems with it:
1) The printed images are bad: the background is grey, and there
are extra images on the page. (Lou: This sounds exactly like
the problem jawetzel reported; after about 3000 pages, the
printer starts putting too much toner on the page...)
2) Jobs disappear from the queue, but don't get printed
3) Some problem printing from Macs via AppleTalk (which I don't know
enough about to describe).
Problem 1 sounds like it's in the cluster-support arena. 2 and 3 sound like
something Darrin would know about.
