Hi, A few (Thursday) days ago I logged into m37-318-4.mit.edu and noticed that
it had been hacked. There was a background screen behind the window
asking for username and for password. My friend, Whitney Winston,
wwinston, tried to do a "last" on the machine only to find there was
no lastlog. We rebooted the machine. Tonight my friend logged in to
the machine and well...it's still hacked:
Hello, Belle% finger @m37-318-4
[m37-318-4.MIT.EDU]
finger: /usr/adm/lastlog open error
Login Name TTY Idle When Office
It doesn't seem to be misbehaving in any other way, or to be a
necessarily "bad" hack -- ie damaging, but it is troubling
Thanks
