Subject: w20 network maintenance
Date: Fri, 02 Apr 93 11:11:27 EST
Hi
Network maintenance is tentatively scheduled for W20 on Apr 6,
from 8:00 to 9:00. (This is the outage that everyone has been talking
about the last few days.) The work has been re-engineered, so that it
will (should?) NOT be user visible.
Just to be safe, Ron Hoffmann has advised that we hold off on
on anything that's network sensitive until after they're finished. We
should probably hold off on backups and vos moves from 8:00 to 9:00 on
Tuesday. Can anyone think of anything else we should avoid?
(In this context, I sort of think that installs and license serving are
non-critical-- a 1 or 2 sec network hiccup shouldn't hurt anything.)
Kim
