Sullius-secundus (a Maxine in e40-342a) will not boot, or even give
the >> prompt. It is always either in a loop trying to do something
and failing (printing "PC=... SR=..." etc.), or hung, depending on
what combinations of ^C, Control-Alt-Delete, and Control-Alt-Return I
have pressed most recently. None of them suffice to get me the >>
prompt. Part of the problem is that I wound up with the BOOT variable
not set to anything at a time when the system decided it wanted to
reboot. _How_ it became unset, I don't know... It seems to have become
unset when I tried to set it. For all I know other variables are lost
or corrupted as well.
If there is a way to reset the environment variables to the defaults,
that's probably what I need done. I couldn't find anyone on the floor
who knew how to recover from this, though.
