At approx. 22:10 on a routine check, I had found the 11-135 machine rm to be
very humid. The Datac A/C unit was humidifying instead of de-humidifying. All
the machine room windows had running water down the glass, and puddles on the
sills. I had notified Plant, who responded to the scene at 22:25. Tony (P.P.)
had found the chilled water valve closed, and had opened it. Tony also lowered
the thermostat setting 1 degree (from 69 to 68). You could feel the air change
almost immediately. Things look like they will return to normal. I have asked
for spot checks through the weekend to ensure proper operation.
I have also notified the emergency pager, and have brought Anne up to speed on
the incident.
