Hello, Jonathan and Randall.
As you probably know by ow, last night there was a system-wide
Kerberos service outage that lasted for about one hour and took place
at the time that was mentioned in Jonathan's message to us. This
outage affected all Athena and Kerberized TechMail users, and included
exactly the symptoms described - users were unable to log in, renew
their tickets, create new connections to discuss servers, print to
printers they hadn't contacted in a certain amount of time, attach
lockers, etc. Athena Operations was paged and had dealt with the
problem, so the situation should have returned to normal. Please, if
you or anyone you know encounters any more symptoms such as these, let
someone know. Probably the best group for this is the Athena On-Line
Consultants, who can be reached via telephone (253-4435) if you can't
log in.
Thank you.
