Linus is back.
The new setup:
Blanket now controls everything except the print spooling for linus
(MOP booting, bootp, lpad session management).
The print spooling still resides on m11-226-p (for the sole reason so that
the operators can turn disable/enable all the queues with the least amount
of work, as they do every night).
The only change to the instructions for the operators is that
"reloadlps40" now should be run from blanket instead of m11-226-p. The
script functions exactly the same as the previous one did (forcing the
printer to reboot, restarting the session manager, frobbing the queues, etc).
Ezra: After quite a bit of time, I figured out how to use "trigger"; it
required a special DECnet node setup, with the service circuit and password
definitions (I used NIL2 and LINUS2 as the node names). I also figured out
that the output filters were dying because it couldn't source a particular
configuration file, and was therefore not setting the PRINTER variable (I
still don't understand how e40-print-server-1 was ever working, given that).
As a sidenote, as of tomorrow, e40-print-server-1 will be obsolete; the
spooling is now being directed through castor for nil.
