The code must work on all platforms (or at least must be internally
conditionalized to build on the appropriate platforms). Other than
that, the previous code requirements that have been generally known for
years still apply. You will find, however, that the new platforms
generally require radically different configuration options to obtain
working software.
The document:
/source/control/doc/code-requirements
describes the details of the code-requirements and provides some more
details about each architecture and a mechanism in which to handle
general configuration.
