I am Stefano Lariccia, working in a Humanities Computer Lab at the
University of Rome 'La Sapienza'. My job deal with applications of
multimedia in teaching and education of Humanities.
We are now working on a project temporarely named "HumDida-
net" that is aimed to promote the use of computers networkig on
wide area to comunicate on arguments such as social science,
history, administration, management, political science.
We are specially interested in the development of a tele-
community of european users. It is our interest too to involve in
this project researchers from East Europe and from the U.S. as well.
I would like to know from you:
1) Are you working with software (multimedia or like) to
improve and simplify communications on Wide Area Network?
2) Do you know anyone else (at your University) working
on this subject?
3) Are you aware of any special technology (software, or
systems) to work with in this area?
4) Do you know any educational group (high schools teacher, clubs o
r whatever)
that may be interested in joining a network like the one we are building?

very much any information by you and your working mate at the
Media Lab. Can I also ask something else on Media Lab? What are
their goals, or their primary functions? What they are working
