I'll be holding a demo and discussion of the electronic forms management and
routing project on December 18th in the Visitor's Center, from 10:00 to 11:30.
The first half-hour will be a demonstration of a prototype system I've
been developing. The prototype allows you to select among a variety of
blank forms, electronically fill one out, and send the completed form
to the next stop in its path. Once the form is in the system, the
intended recipient can retrieve it, add or change data as appropriate,
and forward it to the next stop.
The prototype provides both curses and X interfaces, which run off the
same database and display forms as similarly as possible in the two formats.
After the demonstration, I'd like to devote roughly an hour to a discussion
about the direction of further work on the system. Anyone who has topics
they'd like to bring up can contact me, and I'll put them on the agenda.
