They didn't ban it, they just made it extremely non-mandatory.
Teachers are free to teach it or not teach it,
depending on their moods.
Eventually Darwin will get them for it....
They've taught other things strangely as well - when my father was
growing up, his family moved a few times, and the history of the
War Between The States was taught rather differently than
when he'd first learned it in Texas :-)
