Ok, who was it? The notes I made at the time has Eric's name all over them.

You better check this one junior. There was an announcement that stated
clearly the list was going down and terminating operations on a specific
date. It was announced approximately two weeks prior to that date. Igor,
myself and several others had been discussing it in general. When this
notice came out (perhaps YOU missed it) Igor and I jumped. Igor had algebra
up first on the following Sat. and I cloned his procmail script and had SSZ up
the next day (that'd be a Sun.).
