 [2] The Offshore Mindset
================================================================

I overheard a conversation the other day. Someone was complaining
how they had to pay tax on the interest they were earning on a
particular investment. I had a passing urge to join the conversation
then changed my mind. Why? I realized that although this person
was unhappy about paying this extra tax, it didn't mean she wanted
to hear me rave on about why she shouldn't be paying any tax at all!

I understood that my awareness of offshore alternatives did not
automatically mean that this person would either be ready to hear
about them - or even be interested in such ideas. Because before
you can really benefit from offshore structuring, you need to have
a particular mindset. It's no use trying to avoid taxes, while deep
inside believing you are doing something terrible. All that will
happen is you'll be plagued with guilt and have sleepless nights!

An offshore mindset is more than just wanting to avoid the worst
excesses of the tax system - it's knowing that you are perfectly
entitled, as a sovereign entity, to make your own personal
arrangements - for your own personal advantage.

The word "offshore" has taken on far more meaning than the word
itself indicates. It represents an assertion of your right to live
free of arbitrary rules and regulations as set up by so-called
governments. It means setting yourself apart from nationalist
thinking and grasping the concept that the whole world is available
to you. That the artificial barriers set up between countries are
no reason why you should feel limited by them.

An offshore mindset means seeing yourself as a citizen of an
alternative world - a sort of "Galt's Gulch". (John Galt, the hero
in the novel "Atlas Shrugged", created a place where all the
productive people in the world could escape to - away from the
parasites. He then went about persuading these people to stop
supporting a rotten system by being part of it - and instead to
remove their "sanction" of the system by leaving it.)

Now, armed with the knowledge that using offshore structures can
genuinely benefit you, and that you are perfectly entitled to be
so benefited, you can implement a plan that will increase the odds
in your favour. For hanging on to the money you have worked hard to
earn has to be one of the most rational and moral things you can do!

You can start by taking a good look at: http://offshorehaven.nu

================================================================
[3] Know Your Customer - Dead or Alive?
================================================================

Steve Dasbach, of the US Libertarian Party, <http://www.lp.org/>
reports that, "It took 257,000 outraged Americans to get the
bureaucrats to back down -- but we did it," "Now, our challenge
is to make sure that Know Your Customer doesn't pull a Frankenstein,
and come back to life in another form."

The FDIC and three other Federal Agencies announced that they would
officially withdraw their plans - the plans that became known as
"spy on your customer".

Our advice? Don't believe them! Since when have government officials
ever drawn back from creating plans to siphon off your money and
invade your privacy? And, like the war on drugs - which in effect
is reducing the USA to a police state - "know your customer"
proposals are sure to be back on the agenda at some future time.

The whole so-called justification for banks to report on their
customers' financial habits is to wipe out money laundering - that
heinous crime associated with drugs, gangs and bad people!

So, while raising the spectre of out-of-control drug crime, the
real effect of such legislation would be to monitor the movement
of people's money - and report any "suspicious" transactions as
potential money laundering.

What we have here is "newspeak". How much real money-laundering do
you think is going on? Certainly not enough to warrant spying on
everyone's bank account. And you can be sure that the definition
of money laundering would become quite elastic - and you could find
yourself facing a money-laundering charge just for shifting some
of your money offshore!

And don't forget, even the "crime" of money-laundering is only so
because of the "crime" of drug-taking and drug-selling. One false
crime begets yet another!

Of course, this would be a real cash-cow for the government, as
they could then confiscate your money - as the potential proceeds
of drug running. And you'd be considered guilty until proven
innocent.

No, the government will not stop trying this on one, just because
a whole bunch of people complained about it. They will simply
come up with a cleverer, more clandestine way of achieving the
same ends. So be warned! And be ever vigilant! The time start
hiding your money is now.

 [4] The New Amerika?
================================================================

>From Australian Daily Issues: <http://www.gwb.com.au/gwb/news/daily.html>
comes a most disturbing story - if it's true. Entitled "Death
Camps" - here's a quote of part of it:

"We live in strange times. Suffice it to say I am a captain (not my
actual rank, but at least that) in the National Guard; but I can't
tell you which state, as that information surely will be the quick
road to my demise. I have faithfully served my country in Desert
Storm and Panama, both events having nothing to do with the National
Security safety of this Great Country of ours.

One of my duties requires me to train through rotation with other
units, the ongoing guard staff of various clandestine Prisons many
Americans that over-sight committees do not know exist. These
prisons, or "camps" as we call them, were built for no other purpose
than for the common American taxpayer. I know. I helped build three
of them.

Somewhere along the way, I have lost my soul in the process.

I know for a fact that this government of ours plans to turn America
into a wasteland of proportions that stagger any imagination. It
is the Pentagon and Wall Street's ambition to create no less than
a slave state by the year 2001. They will do it too - with the
media's help - because in many ways, they have already succeeded
in destroying our civil liberties and making the middle-class an
ancient idea.

How can I say these things? From where do I speak?

A few years ago, I was called to a meeting in Fort Mead to join
the augmenting of a unit which would report directly to FEMA in
the event of national disaster. Did we discuss earthquakes,
tornadoes, or flooding? Not on your life. After obtaining several
new written security clearances and after having signed no less
than eleven documents - all giving away my life and liberty should
I ever speak out - I was let in on the following plan.

Before I give out the structure of this plan, I beg anyone who
reads this document to share with as many people as possible what I
consider our last, best chance to reverse the horrible course this
country is going to take in the next twenty-four months. The outline
is as I remember it, as everything was verbal - nothing was ever
written down. Troop movements, orders, and materiel was all coded
with words that meant something other than what they were. For example,
if we needed 150 new prison cells, we didn't call them prison cells.
They became "Cfood units, CIV." Given a code sheet, we could then
interpret and act upon any written order. Most were e-mail and were
to be destroyed once the order was carried out. This was routine
policy and is still in effect today.

* Establish a network of prisons to deal with the estimated twenty
million Americans who will not go along with the New America. This
new country will no longer resemble the USA we all grew up in. It
will be a dictatorship with institutionalized and mandated slave
labor.

* Schools will no longer teach actual history. The schools of the
future will mainly be warehouses for the young. They will teach
the party system: that family is dead, and that work is good.
Discovering this point made me so violently ill I became incontinent.

* Voting will be suspended. Many of us already know that the American
vote is a sham. Officers above the rank of Major are well aware of
who gives the orders in this country. Not the White House, but the
CIA. The White House and its changing occupant are merely the visible
servant of something much darker and the President's sole purpose
is to create laws which lower real income, create war states, and
keep the military machine running with ever-expanding budgets. I know.
I was there at many meetings where foreign policy was dictated by
four-star generals.

* Gun owners will have their guns taken, by force if necessary,
before many of the plan's points are made operational." (end quote)

The list goes on. Of course, you can't automatically believe
everything you read on the Internet. But in this case, do you need
to? Even if the scenario above is exaggerated - the case for accusing
the USA of becoming a Police State is very strong. One only has to
look at the number of people in prison for victimless crimes (like
for ingesting drugs), and the number of people who have had their
property confiscated by the asset forfeiture laws - because they
have been suspected of using their property in the pursuit of crime
(once again, usually to do with drugs). Even worse, having one's
car seized for driving with over the legal limit of alcohol!

On top of that you have a President, who has become a standing joke,
trying to avert attention with a new war. It all sounds so much like
Orwell's "1984", where the power blocs maintained a perpetual war
(called keeping the peace) - to justify their existence - and to
divert the attention of their citizens. And like "1984", words have
become corrupted.

Even if the story above is not literally true - and it could be -
I would still place my money on the fact that America - once land
of the free - is definitely becoming "Amerika". And sometimes
this transition is so overt that one wonders from what quarters
are these changes coming from.

Certainly, I can see a time - in the not too distant future - where
it will be deemed a "crime" to want to move your money offshore.
So, if you're concerned (and you should be), then now is the time
to prepare your offshore strategy. Get out of your comfort zone
and do something to protect yourself and your assets now.

 [5] Kosovo Comment
================================================================

"This is not a proud moment for America, as the United States
military has been used to invade a sovereign nation that threatened
neither our security, nor even the borders of our allies or friends.

Yet, for an Administration enthralled with the notion of a patern-
alistic government that cares for everyone, everywhere, all the
time, President Clinton's actions in Serbia should not be surprising.
Just as this president believes he and his government can best order
the lives of each American citizen (he recently said that Americans
shouldn't be given a tax cut because they would not spend the money
as wisely as he and his administration would), he is confident
that he can solve the problems of the world...."

So says Senator Ron Paul. <http://www.house.gov/paul/>
But it seems such sentiment falls on deaf ears!

According to Dr Sean Gabb <http://freespace.virgin.net/old.whig/>
war can only be legitimately entered into if five conditions are
met - which are:

First, that there is a vital national interest to be secured which
cannot be secured by any other means.

Second, that there is sufficient unity of political will in the
nation going to war.

Third, that there is the ability to commit sufficient force to
win the war.

Fourth, that there are aims clearly defined enough for most people
to agree when the war has been won.

Fifth, that the long term costs of the war are not greater than
any short term benefits of fighting it.

Clearly none of these conditions are being met with the war now
being waged by NATO against Yugoslavia. The mind boggles as to
what can be the REAL reason for this war - for it defies all logic.

Maybe it's part of a "master" plan to advance to role of government
into every nook and cranny of our lives.

NATO will not be able to solve the Kosovo "problem" by simply
sending in aircraft. Already the news is full of stories of
retaliatory force being used against the ethnic Albanians - and
being stepped up as result of NATO's military intervention.

At best, this is a civil war - between factions who hate each other.
A war with roots going back hundreds of years. Even if NATO
succeeded in stopping the Serbs right now - they would start again
as soon as NATO withdrew.

In fact, to even contemplate winning this war would require ground
troops - en masse! And if this were to happen - just watch out for
the mass demonstrations everywhere.

Is this the Vietnam of the 90s?

Of course it is tragic that the Serbs are persecuting the ethnic
Albanians. But in the end, they must sort it out themselves. And
if Bill or Tony really want to lend a hand - then I suggest they
don their battle fatigues and take themselves there in person!
Also if people want to intervene, on behalf of the ethnic Albanians,
then helping people is no crime - but it does become one, when
one has no choice in the matter.

One grim consequence of all this, is that US citizens and even
UK citizens could now be targets of terrorism and acts of violence.
In fact the US government is already warning its citizens to maintain
a "low" profile if travelling. Check out the Department of State's
"Worldwide Caution" at: <http://travel.state.gov/wwc.html>

It's one more reason why US citizens need to protect themselves
against the gross violations on the part of their own government.
Seeking out alternative citizenships, residency and any other means
of NOT being stuck in a country going mad - looks very sensible.

================================================================
 [6] Y2K - The Real Danger
================================================================

Many millions of words have already been written regards the real
or possibly imaginary threat posed by the Y2K computer problem.
And it is not my intention to go over old ground - or even cover
the issue from the ordinary perspective. For reference you can
check out: <http://www.y2kculture.com> <http://www.y2knewswire.com/>

But there is another angle.

Like the stock market and the money system - Y2K has a lot to do
with belief. What do I mean? Well, take the stock market. Its value
apparently has nothing to do with the value of the companies
concerned - but everything to do with the subjective value of the
shares themselves - as determined by mass-psychology. If the stock
is rising (for whatever reason), then this encourages people to
follow sheep-like and start buying - which further inflates prices.
And, conversely, when people sniff danger the selling that follows
in itself triggers mass selling of the same stocks - causing a sharp
fall in prices.

Predicting the stock market is a little like predicting the weather.
It seems like a manifestation of Chaos Theory.

It's the same with our money. At its root it is worthless paper,
or binary code in some computer. What keeps it working is our faith
in the system. As long as we can always get our money when we want
it, we see no reason to explore the more ethereal depths of under-
standing the "how" of money. As long as other people will accept
this money in payment for the stuff we need in life, then we're
happy to assume the money is "real" in some way.

The Y2K problem is a real problem. What is not known is how severe
the problem will be. And it's this "unknown" factor that introduces
the real danger into the equation - the human psychological response
to uncertainty and potential catastrophe. For regardless of the
actual outcome - whether a bang or a fizz - it's how people respond
to the perceived threat that will have the greatest impact.

Consider just one scenario. The rumor goes around that banks will
have problems, so prudent people will take out a couple of week's
living expenses in cash - just to be sure. Problem is, the banking
system is not designed to allow people to draw all their money out
at once. For one thing, the money's not there.

So, in preparation, the Fed (and other Central Banks around the
world) are making sure to have extra cash on hand to meet demand.
But what if the population decides they want to take 10% of their
money out of the banking system? The short answer is disaster.
The banking system is based on fractional reserves - and there is
never that amount liquid in the system. Such a demand for cash would
see banks shutting their doors - and the government declaring a
"bank holiday".

In other words - you have a major run on the banks in the making.

It's the same with the stock market. The values of all those shares
are held subjectively. If people start to take fright as the year
2000 approaches (and this is a very real possibility), then they
will want to cash out of their position. Trouble is, others will
want to do likewise. And the end result? A fall in the stock market,
as prices fall due to sellers outstripping buyers. Once the prices
start falling, stockholders will "panic" sell to get out - causing
prices to fall even lower.

Both of these scenarios are very serious - and have nothing to do
with the actual impact of Y2K. But everything to do with human
response to a potential crisis. And even more to do with the
government's response to the panic that would then set in.

The real worry is that governments, already power-crazy, will take
the opportunity to introduce Draconian "emergency" legislation
to try to contain the panic - like imposed bank holidays, limits
on cash withdrawals, limits on all bank transactions etc.

It pays to be prepared. Best to be safe rather than sorry. If you
are prepared and nothing happens - well, you haven't lost your shirt!
But if all hell breaks loose, and you aren't prepared - then get
ready for a rocky time.

One solution to the money situation would be to make sure you
have money outside your country of residence - somewhere small and
insignificant in the greater scheme of (political) things. A safe
haven so you can weather the storm - if there is going to be one.

The year 2000 and the potential troubles that Y2K could cause,
give every astute person plenty of reasons to examine the advantages
of using offshore structures.

Don't leave it too late.

================================================================
[7] Big Brother is Still Watching!
================================================================

There's a common idea that's been around for ages: "If you have
nothing to hide, then you have no need of privacy."

You know how it goes: Next time the police start doing random
searches in your area - just in case they come across some drug
dealers - why should you complain, if you have nothing to hide?

This sentiment is deeply rooted in society - so much so, that
wanting to increase one's privacy is seen as somehow "suspect".
"Oh, so-and-so, must have something to hide - if he wants that sort
of privacy". You must be a drug dealer, an arms merchant - or worse
someone with an offshore stash!!

And in this age of lack of privacy - Newspeak rears its ugly head
again. Most developed countries have so-called privacy legislation.
Sounds good. But try keeping your financial affairs private! Try
not disclosing your income to the IRS! (Well why not!) You are
allowed to keep your personal affairs from your neighbor (who
doesn't want to tax you anyway), but not from your local bureaucrat.

Sure, the government may have instigated privacy legislation to
protect your name and address from being sold from one direct mail
merchant to another (who really cares anyway?), but when it comes
to serious stuff - you have about as much privacy as being in an
Army latrine!

And if you're not convinced (and happen to be a US citizen), then
check out the following web site <http://www.usatrace.com> which
shows just how much information is available on ordinary people.

And just in case you thought of "inventing" a new persona for
yourself - check out the link below regards a new law that will
make it a felony to make any sort of fake ID.

<http://www.usatrace.com/idlaw.html>

Privacy is a "hot" issue right now. Privacy is something you need
to fight for and defend. A well thought out offshore strategy will
give you a head start.

================================================================

"By a continuous process of inflation, governments can confiscate,
secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their
citizens ... The process engages all the hidden forces of economic
law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not
one man in a million is able to diagnose."

John Maynard Keynes - English Economist and Board Member of the
Bank of England - widely touted as the father of deficit spending.
