RENO WANTS LAWS TO CONTROL CRIME-BY-INTERNET
At a conference in Lima, Peru, U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno has called
for laws to control international computer crime, and at a meeting in
California last Friday she announced plans for an FBI-managed crime center
to fight against attacks over the Internet. High-tech crimes include
fraud,
illegal tampering with funds from banks, child pornography and the
penetration of national security computers. (Washington Post 1 Mar 99)
