Of course, you could choose not to run executables from suspect sources, like
say, ActiveX programs.
The security issue here is with Microsoft, not Intel.
Any hunk of hardware will have an operating program of some sort, and that
program should not be in the habit of giving up confidential data (even when
spoofed by an ActiveX component with a pretty digital signature from a large
software company)
