: That doesn't even touch the very real horrors that lurk in
: the implications of scoop's very accurate warning, that
: the gathering of Cypherpunks may not even be for the

: the visiting Cypherpunks will be under intense observation
: is certain. That attempts will be made to weasel into
: their informal meetings and discussions is certain. That
: attempts will be made to draw some of them into discussions

: is certain.

In past years it has been oft brought up that LEA reps are more than likely
lurking and taking note. At large public meetings like CFP and others, cpunks
have been in direct contact with the NSA, people like James Baker, etc, who
expressed their familiarity with members of cpunks its the content/attitude.
The monthly meetings are publicly announced and any FBI/CIA/IRS stranger can
show up and see what they've been up to; some of the best
coders/hackers/crackers attend, and later they all go out to dinner, where the
same stranger could easily befriend them and draw them into conversation - or
simply reply privately to posts and start up conversations, friendships, and
share confidential anarchist plans to overthrow the government.
Or they could just read the archives and identify all the likely suspects. So
what's new.
