I read http://jya.com/nsa-mathjob.htm

I noticed

everyone I saw, managers included, is sharing an
office - a small room with one or two other people or a warren with
     dozens.

It's very bad at FANX near the airport where I did most of my visits.

liberal policies and perqs on every kind of workplace
     issue.

But there is a dark side of working at NSA. You can read about this

in No Such Agency Baltimore Sun

linked at http://www.qainfo.se/~lb/crypto_ag.htm

NSA employees who get crosswise with the agency suffer. NSA even goes
after others outside the agency http://jya.com/da/whpda.htm

Gus Simmons told me that NSA was responsible for his forced early
retirement from Sandia lab.

Sandia's main responsibility is fuzing of nuclear weapons.
