Freedom is based on a number of Cypherpunks inspired techologies:

o Lance's mixmaster
o Wei Dai's Pipe-net
o Lucky's zero-information leaking traffic shaping
o (who invented them?) nymservers
o v2 will make use of Jim McCoy's distributed mailbox servers
o etc, etc...
