The very question I've been waiting to see answered.
Is the crypto any different in 6.0.3 from 5.0?
If so, and if there is no UNIX version planned, I would call for people
to help (I'll put in time and code to the effort) in pulling PGP 6 apart
and interfacing the crypto layer to the PGP 5.0i UI code, or
alternatively to create a new UI.
In this case, I would personally like to see the 5.0i UI code be used if
possible, for obvious reasons of code reuse, but also so that existing
scripts work.
In the end, a new face for PGP might be nice anyhow, with full X GUI
support and all the fixings. Irrelevent for me, really .. for me X is
just a really slick terminal manager (Xterm rules :) but many people
would like this.
If the crypto is the same, then I won't bother. If you like GUI's you
shouldn't be using UNIX and X anyhow. 2^64 different widget sets, each
with their own workings and such is no way to run a GUI. Of course, this
is why the UNIX gods run things this way in the first place. :)
KDE, Gnome? Heretics! :)
(c'mon I'm kidding guys .. no flames or widget wars .. I'm just
remembering the good 'ole days of my DEC VT100 tied to my little Sun IPC
is all.. )
