The USG is creating a self-fulfilling prophecy for Y2K. Whether
or not there are shortages, there will be rationing; whether or
not the lights stay on, there will be curfews; whether or not
there is civil disorder, there will be tanks in the streets and
citizens will need papers to prove they can be where they are.
The increasingly militarized LEAs have been programmed to see
civilians as "the enemy."
And the first poor schmuck to lock himself out of his house and
therefore not be inside by curfew will be shot on sight as a
"looter". Then there will be protests, giving the authorities
exactly what they need to crack down. There will be martial law,
regardless of what happens due to the millenium bug, but it will
not end when "order" is restored. The USG was more prepared than
ever we knew for Y2K. The Land of the Free has less than a year
to live.
