After checking the text of the Know Your Customer proposed regs at
the FDIC site and sending my outraged letter, I checked the statistics
FDIC has posted on the comments they've received at:
http://www.fdic.gov/banknews/customer.html
Is my reading of this correct? It looks to me like they've received
12,198 comments, of which 16 were supportive. This looks so heavily
weighted against it that, as with the Clipper "request for comments"
landslide (I think Sternlight's was the only one they received in
favor), it's almost sure to become official policy.
Yes, I've gotten cynical in my old age.
