Look's like there's dirty work afoot...every corporation wants
subservient and obedient little pay per use we know what color you
pissed this morning because we stuck a serialized telemetry chip up your
ass by law when you were born under permit BTW you're due to go down to
your local courhouse on the 23rd to get your batteries recharged
consumers. Well, SW can be hacked though mostly it's not worth the
effort and the entertainment media mostly sucks moose so who cares about
content prices?

The loss of anonymity bit is a big problem.

How do you serialize the chips? Maybe there'll be a market for a company
that can flip the lid off a CPU and alter its ID. Can't make that a
crime unless buying it doesn't give you actual ownership. That sounds
familiar...where've I heard that before?

I doubt any CPU manufacturers would have the balls to make a
configurable ID mechanism and run the risk of being called thieves and
pirates by the media. It wouldn't be good for stock prices.

Time for a whole new network where the carpetbuggerers can be kept out
for a few years before it's time to move on to yet another new place...
