I've heard from some Bell Atlantic employees that some of them aren't worried
since a lot of the equipment are old mechanical switches. This of course
isn't true everywhere and not in NYC where extra services (Caller ID, Voice
Mail, etc.) are present.
It's interesting to see the mentality of this thing. ("We're safe, cause we
use shitty old switches in a lot of areas" and not worrying about what the
interaction of the newer switches will cause.)
