Denis Vacco is an example of the worst type of politician, an
attorney general whose principle objective is to achieve name
recognition and is willing to abuse his office to that end.
Vacco appears to have siezed on the Internet in much the same way
that Gobbels siezed upon the then novel medium of radio. This
event is merely the latest in a long line of populist moves whose
principal purpose appears to be to promote the career of Denis
Vacco.
His campaigns earlier this year included an invitation to NY residents
to make their opinions known about the bail application of a suitably
unpopular fellon. Views which concurred with Vacco's appeared on the
Attorney Generals Website, those which were inconvenient were not
making the value of the exercise in sampling public opinion nil.
Then there was his campaign against virtual vineyards, a company which
competes with Vacco's campaign contributors.
