need to analyze some data..

I'm trying to figure out a protocol, and started to wonder if there might
be a utility already written to help me with this. In my case I just need
to look at < 100 bytes of data, but if there was some program that could
tell me that every two bytes or four bytes of data contain values within
this range, or if I could feed it a few different versions of sample data
and it could find further relationships, it would be a help.
