There are a couple of folks already accepting Mastercard/Visa/etc for payment
for a variety of services that have some part of the transaction occur across
the NSFnet. The two I'm most know the most about are a research service,
and an article delivery service.
The wisdom of sending your MC/Visa number is another question, but I think they
may also accept PO's or set up an account if your institution uses them alot.
Who knows you might actually even be able to order those nasty ISO standards,
and have them delivered across the net.
