Roy,
Kent+I don't slug it out really, we just kind of dance and perform
on stage a little, we're really on the same side, we're going to
do whatever is best for internetworking for our customers, because
we don't want civilization to fall and go back to using stone knives
like RSCS.
An answer for you,is that you never want to do a hot cut (same day), you want
at least 30 days of overlap due to routing tables being updated by
hand (this is affectionally called Policy Based Routing) by people
higher up in the food chain etc...
Marty

Why is it that every single discussion on this list ends up being
Another round of the Kent vs. Marty slug-fest? Not that it's not fun to
listen to, but for all the bickering, nobody ever answered my question.
I'll put it forth one more time.
Let's assume I'm connected to NEARNet and get pissed at them and
want to connect to PSINet (not the same pair I used in my original query,
but that doesn't matter). What sort of technical issues would be involved
in pulling one plug and plugging in the other, without causing any undue
disruption to my users?
