For the record, I have at least started, and where applicable and I knew
how, did something with colors, the following third party software
packages on an 8.1 SGI:
Frame (4,5)
Autocad (12,13)
Maple (V5R3, V5R4)
Matlab (4.2)
S-Plus (3.3)
Tecplot (7)
Xess (3.0, 3.1)
Pro/E
We all know about AutoCAD 13 and Xess 3.0, but aside from that, Tecplot
7 is the only package which noticed the difference. It printed a
warning:
Warning: Default visual will not allow changeable color map
but ran.
That just leaves the SGI-specific software and any courseware which has
actually been compiled for the SGI.
