I suspect the answer is that we don't have time to look into this
right now. Even if we get the time, I don't know if it will be
possible to implement without rewriting major sections of code (or
conceviably at all). It should be noted that errors messages should
be reported in the output of lpq, so if your printouts don't show up
you might try that. (Users may want to ttry that before submitting
jobs anyway, since they can find out if a q is really large.
