Hello, Michael.
First, let me apologize for the long delay in responding to your letter.
I can assure you that this was not due to lack of reaction, but rather
to preferring to make the right response.
Second, I want to thank you for the time and effort you put into your
suggestion.
Here is the actual plan for what we are doing:
1. Athena Patch Release 8.0K (the current general release) contains a
workaround which should result in mail not being delayed more than 24
hours.
2. Athena Release 8.1 (scheduled for this summer) will have a newer
version of sendmail which should completely remove the problem you
have noticed.
I think you should congratulate yourself for taking effective action
to help alert us to the problem and for continuing to follow up until
the problem was resolved.
I hope this clarifies what we are doing in response to your letter.
