In [546], I reported three problems with utmp handling on Solaris.
Here are some updates:
* The output of /usr/bin/finger doesn't include entries
created by xterm, so you have to finger username@machinename
to get a user's idle time. This behavior, which is new in
Solaris 2.4, is still present in Solaris 2.5.1, and is
probably intentional.
* The output of "/usr/bin/finger -s username" includes entries
corresponding to dead processes. This bug, which was
present in both Solaris 2.3 and Solaris 2.4, is fixed in
Solaris 2.5.1.
* I said I had seen utmp ghosts, but I haven't seen any since,
so I may have been confused.
